James Martell: Affiliate Rock StarEmail This EntryPrint This Entry
Posted by Todd Tweedy

James Martell is the poster-boy of affiliate marketing success, and his presentation was part Tony Robbins-like motivation tips loaded with real world insight and road rules for becoming a successful affiliate and business owner. He’s a rock star at CJU. Trust me on this one: the audience was silly with joy as James spoke about his affiliate success. And, James is successful with a new personal goal of generating $100,000 per month in net income including some conspicuous purchases that include a custom-build 1967 Shelby Cobra that have recently been realized.

James is the author of Affiliate Marketers Handbook that was first published in 2002. He started with three sites approximately five years ago and now manages 90 websites including http://www.1st-in-cell-phones.com. James relies exclusively on natural search to drive revenues.

Here’s James Martell’s 10 Rules for affiliate marketing success:

Rule 1: Think pages not sites.
Rule 2: Create a keyword list
Rule 3: Build a single page around every keyword
Rule 4: Follow a keyword density formula
Rule 5: Publish excellent content
Rule 6: Organize internal links strategically
Rule 7: Use my PAD technique (think of this as an alternative to manually building inbound links)
Rule 8: Develop a few product only pages for each site
Rule 9: Plan a great site map
Rule 10: Set a financial goal for your site before you build it

I just spoke to James about getting his presentation so that we can post it here. I’ll post it ASAP.

Todd

Hi Todd

Thanks for this insight, I didn't make CJU so if you do get hold of James' presentation that would be awesome to see. There are a lot of people claiming to be "Rock Stars" in affiliate marketing these days, but James is certainly one of the few is really at the top of his field

Cheers

Todd - Great blog. I wanted to jump in to echo your comments about the energy in the room during James Martell's presentation. I've known James personally for a few years and was WOWed by the standing room only crowd and their energy and excitement in response to his success. Some of us, who live local to James & Arlene, were a bit awestruck by the number of his Students and their success - it was really inspiring to meet so many people from around the world who are making a living from following his methods.

We even met one man who flew in from Texas just to meet James. He wasn't able to stay for the entire conference - but made the trip in order to meet James and discuss the business. Talk about Affiliate Rock Star. Anyhow... I'm starting to sound like some of the names we were being tagged during CJU: the Martellites, the Martell Groupies, the Canadians. But, it's all good. Thanks James! Your knowledge, and willingness to share it, has really impacted me. Cheers!

Bravo for James Martell, and to you for recognizing his 'star' quality. I like to think of it as 'start' quality, because if you don't start you are not going anywhere.
I am definitely going to CJU next year.

thumbs up to james on managing to make people think he invented content sites lol.. give me a break SEO experts were doing 99% of the stuff he talks about when he was still figuring out what HTML code was.... he just managed to get it all in a book before they did and gather a few people to buy it..

im not a downer on him.. hes a class act! but come now.. the PAD technique that has been aroundfor ages!!! its not new.. just the name you have given it is...

and the continuous plug of andrea thomson website goldenpincone.. come now we all now james you dont pay for your templates so why in earth are we going to pay $75 for something we can get for $10 same quality if not better from anotehr template place online.. from what i have heard too.. the girl is really rude to people ....

but then again everyone loves a winner story eh..
Pass me the vomit bucket!

I'd like to comment on the above statements. First of all, your post essentially consists of unfounded blather, and truly communicates your own personal bitterness. In Andrea Thomson's defense, I'd like to say that she is one of the nicest and most professional web designers I've ever worked with. Yes, her templates are more expensive than some of the templates on the market, but there are reasons for that. Her templates are strategically designed to maximize adsense revenue and affiliate commissions using the absolute cleanest code possible. Affiliate marketers choose her templates because they are so easy to use. As you might know, there are numerous on-page factors crucial for search engine success, and Andreas templates are designed with this in mind. When it comes to purchasing templates online, you get what you pay for.

What's the "PAD technique" ?

The PAD technique(short for Professional Article Distribution) was created by the James Martell think tank.

The pad technique is extremely effective for recieving high PR inbound links to your site without having to reciprocate links outbound from your site. The advantage is great of course when you do this.

I bought the James Martell handbook which included "Google Mastery". You can see it here @
http://www.work-at-home-on-your-computer.com/#google

It's in the Google Mastery report that you get the PAD TECHNIQUE lessons.

I had been struggling with trying to rank in the search engines and I finally ran across the Pad Technique. That was the turning point for me. After I applied all his methods my dead site started rising. Now the money is really starting to flow my way for a change.

All the best,

Brent Truitt
