You may or may not have heard the press recently regarding this site, but I just had the chance to take a look at it, and have to say. Wow, brilliant! Alex Tew is a 21 year old college student in Wiltshire England who didn't want to graduate with student loan debt, so he decided to create a "Million Dollar Home Page". His idea was to take 1,000,000 pixels and sell them for $1 each in blocks of 10x10 pixels. Well with some PR boost, the site has taken off. The viral marketing and inbound links, like this one have boosted the site to a PR7 ranking in Google, and the honor of Alexa's fasted moving site. The last 1,000 pixels are available on eBay, and as of this post are selling for $146,700 with 5 days and 21 hours left. Brilliant! Comments (22) + TrackBacks (1) | Category: ! Hot Topics

Hi I've been reviewing many of the million dollar sites and so many of them have been just bad repeats. A few have come to the forefront, if not in interface, atleast in nice design. The latest has been officialmilliondollarwebpage.com which I gave high reviews on several of my blog postings.
With luck the creators can pay off their student loans as well!
Good luck to you all,

I agree with snowy. There's many bad repeats which just are rip-offs.
Luckily seeing the site back in january opened my eyes to something which held alot of potential and hadnt been done before.
So ive gone and created the first ever tactical advertising game and introduced to the pixel scene the worlds first interactive site which actually encourages interaction with adverts.

We are attempting success with the pixel page idea. We hope this is not a "bad repeat." Our site focuses specifically in the real estate niche and uses the pixel homepage as a gimmick for the directory. Please feel free to take a look - http://www.BestRealEstateBusinesse.com

A new spin. http://www.clicktheblocks.com. Active ebay auctions in a million dollar page format. The auctions are automatically removed from the collage when the auction end.

I have just launched my own Million Dollar Homepage. It's not an exact copy of the pixel page, but it's a similar concept. At the time I'm writing this, I've made $30.00 -- The site was launched yesterday.

MillionCharactersWall is an unique online virtual wall that aims to engrave 1 million (1,000,000) characters engraved on it. When "Million Characters Wall" has completed its service of engraving 1,000,000 characters, the virtual wall would not merely be filled with your words, but more importantly your feelings and emotions.

Here's a more original twist on the idea - http://www.writemynovel.org. It aims to generate income by getting advertisers to buy every word in the novel individually.

Seems good concept. After the pixels selling the words. Good design and structured as well. Worth to have a look. Tried to understand the technical concept.
