SIDs are a great way to track stuff. But the biggest issue I have with them is that CJ does not allow visibility into which SIDs are being clicked and not converting. I have had several instances where conversions stopped cold after implementing SIDs correctly. CJ appears to be tracking clicks correctly but conversions die. This makes it impossible to troubleshoot. So be careful when implementing them especially, when you insert SIDs dynamically.

Very good point, and I think you might be right. Remember my goal was to create a site with paid search landing pages that would get people to Rosetta Stone. The site is mostly defunct now.

Old post, but I still have to ask since I'm very new to the internet marketing world. How could you possibly think this kind of site could have a high conversion rate? It adds almost of value to the want to buy language software / want to sell language software transaction. Wouldn't taking a personal approach -- "how I learned spanish quickly and easily" -- make for a far more convincing (and higher converting) piece of internet real estate?

I have signed up in both LinkShare and CJ.
Here is something I thought:
Looks like most of CJ merchants do not offer the RSS feed, I have sent bunch of emails to ask merchants about offering RSS data feed or CSV files, so far, only one merchant gave me the RSS feed link. The rest of merchants cannot offer RSS data feed. CJ teams should do more work for their publisher …
By the way, looks like, a lot of merchants do not include item images in their RSS data feed.
It is really easy to include an image in the RSS xml format; I do not understand why they do not do it....
Compare with CJ merchants, a lot of LinkShare merchants offer RSS data feed. It gave us more flexible choice

Hi Adam,

I stumbled across this page on setting up an affiliate site. Your site looks really professional. Thanks for the great tips. How have conversions been since the new updates on

http://goyami.corante.com/archives/2006/11/16/building_a_professional_affiliate_site_looking_back.php

I noticed that "chineseso.com" was no longer used to redirect.

Has the language translation increased conversions a lot?

Does having google ads decrease conversions?

Thanks Again for the Great Info,
Joe

So how did you get on with your Sitepoint auction? I tried selling something on there once and didn't get any bids so found it a bit dissapointing. I'd be interested to hear how you got on. Also in the 2 years since you wrote this post do you think things have moved on at all in this market?

<p>
I noticed last month that the elevator area for Mandalay has been renovated, though only on the casino floor. The new look has that silver and dark woods look that I'd normally complain about as being overdone, but since THEhotel is right nearby and basically established this look on the Strip, you can't argue too much about it's use here. Anyway, since the basement/beach/pool level still has the old lobbies, I was able to make some comparison shots.

The story of Quenchmark

How many people have a tattoo? Do you believe in re-incarnation? Who would you vote: Obama or McCain? What is chemical formula of salt? Who will win the Stanley Cup? What is your secret to happiness? How many times do you get a haircut? Would you buy a WII or an Xbox for Christmas? Will Steve marry Sophia? Etc.
We all have questions, we all want answers to them. You can “google” the web to learn what people’s ideas are. But it does not quench your thirst for clear and quick answers because the information is scattered and disorganized.
No more pain, now you can “Quenchmark” your questions and find clear and quick answers. My name is Werner de Schaetzen and I created Quenchmark in Vancouver, Canada.
What is quenchmark?
If you mix together: Question mark, Quench your thirst, and make your Mark,…
You’ll get QUENCHMARK!
Quenchmark is a website with questions and answers.
Quenchmark is a revolution in the way you ask questions and the way you answer them: it is more than answers; it is more than questions.
•	Quenchmark is more than questions because you can create polls, surveys, questionnaires and invite your friends, your co-workers, your family or the entire community to participate.
•	Quenchmark is more than answers because you’ll find out what people think in the form of statistics and graphs.
Quenchmark is the new community site where you and your friends can gather, have fun reading your friends answers, communicate, ask any questions you want, and find clear answers.
What can you do as a Quenchmarker?
1.	Have all your questions answered!
2.	Find out what other people think including your friends!
3.	Learn from others.
4.	Connect with other quenchmarkers.
5.	Obtain collective information on your hot topic! For example, create a quenchmark topic comparing cars, hockey teams, universities, girlfriends, etc.
What type of questions can I answer on Quenchmark?
With over 300+ categories, any topic can be quenchmarked! What is your passion (Hockey, Politics, Religion, Magic)? Pick your hot topic, ask some questions to your friends, coworkers, the community, and find out where you stand! Quenchmark it! Make your mark, take a stand, compare your answers with your friends and have Quenchmark quantify all the answers in an easy-to-understand graph!
So what do I have to do?
Go to www.quenchmark.com and click on the Sign Up button to create a quenchmark account.
The registration process will take less than 30 seconds. Try it now…. It is absolutely free. Guaranteed!
